A Shared Path
Two souls have come together
To share their path in life.
They all say it won't work,
That all they’ll know is strife
Here are two souls,
Vastly different yet so similar.
They find solace in each other's arms
While reveling in the warmth of the familiar.
No one on Earth could possibly know
The depth of love shared by these two souls.
The excitement they feel about what lies ahead
And the challenge of realizing their goals.
I Tried
My stars are dancing around me
In a melancholy sort of way.
My sun has faded slightly
And my moons are almost gone.
My universe is dying,
Disappearing slowly.
I don't know what to do.
I don't know how to stop it.
I knew that taking on this job
Was a huge responsibility.
But I didn't know I would care this much.
I didn't know it would hurt this much.
I tried to teach them without them
Hating me.
I thought they would appreciate
The gifts I had given them
And would use them wisely.
But they don't.
I believe I have whispered to quietly
In their ears
And they are too busy to listen.
I should speak louder
And maybe they will hear me.
Maybe they will listen better to you.
Give it a try, it can't hurt anyone.
Do it for me.
Do it for you.

Ruth Mendleson was kind enough to send me an e-mail with a link to her site, which samples her CD Amazing Jellies. The music is both soothing and inspiring.
